Wüstenkoggen e. V. Visit Our School in Labakoreh
We were very pleased to hear that members and supporters of Wüstenkoggen e. V. from Wismar have once again visited our school in Labakoreh. The warm connection between our associations and our friends in The Gambia has existed since their first visit three years ago. This year, the Dresden–Dakar–Banjul Rally Tour once again brought the rally team to The Gambia.

The Wüstenkoggen team set off from Germany on 4 March and arrived in The Gambia on 26 March. Shortly after their arrival, they travelled to Labakoreh. There they met Mustapha, Lamin, members of the school staff and several children. Since the rally vehicles were later auctioned in Banjul, they had to be completely emptied beforehand. Sleeping bags, mattresses, cookers and other travel equipment could therefore be distributed at the school and put to further use.

On 1 April, the Wüstenkoggen team visited our school again and handed over a laptop and a data projector for teaching. Sebastian and other members of the association explained to the teaching staff how the equipment can be used.

The laptop and projector were soon put to use. This is possible because we have already equipped the school with electricity over the past few years. For the children, this means another step towards the kind of learning that should be possible everywhere today: images, videos and other learning materials can now be included in lessons at our school as well.
The laptop and projector were soon put to use.
Fatu, the head of the school, expressed her gratitude for the support. She wrote that the equipment was good for the school and is now being used. The joy about this is great — both in The Gambia and in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

We sincerely thank Wüstenkoggen e. V. from Wismar for their renewed visit and are grateful for the donations and practical support provided on site.
