Donation Handover to Our Association End of June/Early July
During the ceremonial handover of a donation from the Schwaaner Eintracht association to the „Bützower for Gambia“ association in Schwaan, the chairwoman, Monika Thomsen, received a significant donation of 557 euros.
Additionally, on the evening of the 30th anniversary celebration of the association, to which we extend our heartfelt congratulations, a further 180 euros were raised for our projects with the people in Gambia. Our thanks go to all the athletes, led by Ines Lohheit, who, after a joint visit to Gambia, initiated this remarkable donation campaign as a friend and supporter of the Gambia association.
Ines’ efforts involved engaging the athletes‘ parents, the athletes themselves, and her family, who made substantial contributions. Her father and husband also supported her actively.
Thanks to their efforts, not only was a significant amount of money collected, but also much-needed sports equipment. Among the donations were many football boots, two nets with five balls each, and an additional five footballs from the Wachholz family. Furthermore, the association itself provided five new footballs for the children and young people of „our“ village in Gambia.
About a week before the handover of donations from Schwaaner Eintracht, donations had already been handed over to Monika: 500 euros from the primary school in Bützow and the Free Primary School, and 1080 euros from the Futura Kids Foundation.
These selfless contributions are greatly appreciated by all members of our association. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all donors and are especially grateful for Ines Lohheit’s outstanding private initiative. Such actions give us confidence in the future of our European-African project „Bützower for Gambia,“ Monika told me via WhatsApp.
